The Filingpoint  functions as the Internal Auditor for Citrus County and has established the Department of Internal Audit (IAD) to perform independent, objective reviews and evaluations of all Clerk operations. The IAD operates independently of the Board of County Commissioners and its Administration and conducts financial, compliance, operational and performance audits. It applies a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate operational, compliance and governance processes within the Clerk's organization.

In addition to conducting regular, periodic and ad hoc audits, the IAD assists management with the development of an effective system of internal controls, including assisting in the preparation of policies and procedures. The IAD also reviews the effectiveness of these controls and provides recommendations for improvements in an effort to help the organization accomplish its goals.

The IAD is committed to maintaining professional integrity, objectivity, confidentiality and competency in the conduct of its work.
